Amy Rowley Style - Three Jackets You Must Have This Season

January is in full swing and the weather here in the UK, is as always, very temperamental.  Because of this, your jacket is the best way to make a fashion statement. After all, it's the main item of clothing that everyone will see. I thought I would talk you through 3 of my favourite types of jacket (or coats) that are on the hight street at the moment.

First thing's first, we need to address the comeback of the puffer jacket. Yes, that's right all types of puffers, short, long and in all sorts of shades. They are all over the high street and even in the likes of Tesco! I'll happily say that if you had told me a couple of years ago that I would be buying a puffer jacket, I would have laughed and thought they looked silly. However, now I love them. I had been on the hunt for a beige coloured puffer jacket for a while and when I spotted this one on ASOS I saved it straight onto my Wishlist. When I saw that it went down into the sale I knew I had to have it. Not only is it super comfy and causal but it's lovely and warm too. I have styled it up in lots of ways including the outfit below.

Outfit
- Puffer jacket- Vero Moda -
- Leather look jeans Missguided -
- Boots - Zara -
- T-shirt - Topshop -

Next up, the teddy jacket. These are absolutely everywhere and for good reason too; they are gorgeous. I currently have my eye on a couple that I will link down below. Do I think they will be back next year? Yes, I truly believe they will be here to stay. Pair them with a pair of leather look trousers and roll neck jumper for the perfect cozy look.

Teddy Jackets
- Topshop -
- Topshop -

Last but by no means lest, the faux fur jacket. Again, there has been a bit of a craze for these this year, just like every other. Who would blame anyone though? They are so warm! The perfect jacket to wear over a dress on a night out, or to give a simple outfit the touch of luxury it needs. Once again I have linked some of my favourites below.

Amy Rowley Style - The Perfect Summer Dress

So it's official, England is currently experiencing a crazy heatwave and I don't know about you but when this tends to happen the first thing I think is.. 'Crap, what am I going to wear'.
Feeling hot and sweaty is simply uncomfortable but of course being me, I still want to stay stylish where I can. I know floral tea style dresses have been huge this spring/summer and were last year too, but up until now i've never been able to find the perfect one for me.

You may have seen if you follow me on Instagram, that last week I got my hair done and whenever I decide to get a refresh in the hair department I always tend to have a wild moment where I feel a bit sassy and think that I can maybe rock something that I couldn't before. This happened to occur when I entered Topshop ( big mistake) and picked up some summer bits to try on whilst I had 5 minutes to spare. I often think that these dresses don't suit me but I absolutely loved the colour and print and just thought why the hell not. After trying it on, I didn't want to take it off and although it was a little bit pricey I knew that I would get the wear out of it. So of course I ended up walking out of topshop with a sneaky purchase.

Anyway, enough of the ramble, ( sorry i'm in one of those moods) the dress itself is as I mentioned from good old Topshop and was £46. I know what you're thinking but honestly the possibilities are endless and i've already worn it three times in the space of a week.

It's perfect dressed down like I have for this outfit with some sunnies ( my trusty Raybans) and super cute pink loafers from New Look. But, it also looks fab with heeled sandals and a western style belt for drinks with the girls which of course occurred Saturday night, after all getting your hair done is the perfect excuse to go out.

I know there are plenty of these dresses on the market and you can definitely pick up some more affordable options from the likes of Boohoo and Missguided, but for me I just could't help myself. I will link some other options below along with my dress for you to have a sneaky look at.

So, what do you think? Will you buying into the tea dress trend and are you a fan of my latest purchase? Let me know!

Amy Rowley's First Birthday

So today is officially Amy Rowley's 1st birthday, yes that's right I have been blogging for 1 year now and what a year it's been. Never did I think I would have stuck with it or enjoyed it as much as I have done. And to celebrate, what better way than to write a blog post on all the good things that have come out of my blogging journey so far.

Confidence
I think it's safe to say that over the last year my confidence has gone from strength to strength and blogging has definitely contributed to this. When I first started my blog, I didn't want to post anything on Facebook or tell anyone at work. I was scared people would think, 'who the hell does she think she is'.  Now i'm not afraid to share my blog with others, talk about my experiences or even talk about things that may be a little bit controversial. You simply get to the point where you just dont care about others opinion's anymore and just want to focus on what makes you happy.

The same goes for my confidence when taking pictures, don't get me wrong I still don't enjoy people staring at me weirdly posing for a picture in the street but I won't let it stop me anymore. I just laugh it off, do a funny dance or talk to a friend that is normally behind the camera and carry on like normal

Becoming more experimental with fashion
Not only has my confidence grown in general but i find it easier to be more experimental with fashion, the colours I wear and the styles I put together. I'm still getting there with mixing up the things I wear more often but blogging has made me want to be more stylish and more fun with every outfit I wear, even when I head to the office every morning. A great outfit makes me feel 10 times better.

Making new friends
Before starting my blog I only knew a handful of people that either blogged themselves or just enjoyed or knew about the blogging world in general. Writing my own one has opened myself up to meeting new people and creating new friends that share the same interests and a passion for the industry. I can't wait to go to more events and meet new faces that may not be new from pictures (after stalking them religiously on Instagram) but i finally get to talk to in person.

Allowed me to be creative
Before last year I really felt that I had lost my creative flair. I've always loved fashion, writing and photography but at the time of starting Amy Rowley I was in a job where it wasn't really possible to express this. Having my blog gave me that kick up the bum to be more creative and use my brain to constantly come up with new ideas and try new looks.
I am lucky enough to say that my blog has even allowed me to secure a job in a marketing role, where I now get to be creative and use my brain on a daily basis.

* Outfit *
Shirt - H&M
Jeans - Zara
Bag - Mango
Shoes - New Look

I think after writing this blog post it has just confirmed it to me, that starting my blog was without a doubt the best thing I could have done... in fact I wish I had done it sooner. Because of this, I thought this may be able to help you if you want to start something new, maybe a blog, a you tube channel or even something simple like signing up for the gym but are too nervous to do so. The answer is simple...just do it!

Things always seem a lot more scary when the're unknown and you don't know what it could mean for the future, especially when you're concerned about what people could think. But this is just a friendly reminder to say, that you shouldn't care and you should only ever do what makes you happy, as cheesy as it sounds.

Anyway, if you've been with Amy Rowley and it's journey so far then thank you so much. I can't wait to see what's in store next...after all who knows what's around the corner.

Amy Rowley Style - Tips and Tricks to Primark purchases

Primark is a funny one. It's full to the brim of endless clothing, accessories, home bits and even now makeup and beauty. But for me, its all about finding a needle in a haystack. That one gem out of endless amounts of rocks. Some may disagree and this may been controversial, but gone are the days of me coming out with huge bags of Primark pieces, instead I choose wisely with a couple of items at a time.

Here are my tips for shopping in primark, to ensure you don't waste your money on 'bargains' and make sure you find a staple or fantastic trend piece that you will be wearing non stop through the summer months.

First things first, it's so easy to get sucked in by cheap deals, unbeatable prices and a good ol'bargain, but it's important to be picky nonetheless. I used to walk out with bags full of these fantastic buys only later would I realise that realistically it didn't overly flatter my body or I was only going to wear it once or twice. Choose wisely when shopping in Primarni my loves, take an item and imagine spending a topshop price on it, would you still be tempted to make the purchase at a higher price? Will you wear it more then once? These are the questions that will help you to make a good primark purchase and not end up regretting it later.

That is not to say you can't be adventurous with Primark pieces, in fact I suggest doing so. Take the big seasonal trends, such as gingham or embroidery, the ones you know you won't want to wear forever. Primark is the perfect way to dabble in the trend without forking out a fortune. Take advantage of the cheaper prices for those more daring pieces that you know will be perfect for this season but may not be as popular for the next.

Of course there are those items that you simply can't go wrong with when it comes to primark. Plain cami tops are one and Pjamas are another. If like me, you aren't one to wear silky lacy nightwear on a daily basis and just prefer to be comfortable... Primark is the one!! Their range of themed, cute nightwear has got to be a winner for so many. Am I right people or am I right.

My final tip it to use Primark as a guinea pig. All those expensive items that you think you like the look of, but aren't quite sure, head into Primark to see if you can find a similar piece. More often than not they try to copy designer pieces and follow big trends. Buy a cheaper alternative and if you find yourself loving the item, you will know to splurge on the more expensive option.

When I went into my local Primark a few weeks ago, I literally had all of 5 minutes to spare, which is normally never a great thing. However two things caught my eye. The first, was this gorgeous little gingham dress with flared sleeves. Killing two trends with one stone and at a small price of just £13 I had to pick it up. The other item will be appearing on the blog soon. Another trend item that I thought I would try the waters with, before making a splurge.

Anyway, enough of the rambling I hear you say. I hope this has helped you Primark lovers out there, to get the best out of a cheaper high street store. All I have to say now is... Happy Shopping!!

Amy Rowley Style - City Break Exploring

So last weekend I was on one of the best trips I have had in a long long time. My work colleagues and I decided to spend a long weekend in Amsterdam and what a weekend it was. When we first booked the trip of course one of the first things I started to think about was my outfits and what I was going to wear. After a super last minute trip into H&M I came out with a bag of goodies...oops. It is safe to say H&M are killing it right now so I would suggest you pop in and have a look.

*Outfit Details*

Jacket - ZARA
Top - H&M (can't find online)
Skirt - H&M (can;t find online)

We spent the weekend exploring the sights, eating lots of yummy food, consuming way too much alcohol and a spot of shopping. I will talk about this in my next blog post so look out for that.

Me and a friend snuck out of the hotel while the others were taking vital nap time for the evening ahead, to take some artsy pictures for this blog post. That is blog commitment right there.

For my outfits I wanted to be comfortable but still trendy, which is exactly why I love this outfit. Of course both the T-shirt and skirt are from H&M, and my trusty Zara suede biker which was worn constantly throughout the trip.

I paired the embroidered slogan tee with a pink denim skirt, which I absolutely love. I think it looks great in this more casual outfit but I also think it would look lovely with a white shirt and some heels for a more smart casual style. The same applies to the t-shirt which would also look great with black high waisted jeans and a coloured blazer over the top to add that little bit of tailoring.

Both items could be worn in so many different ways, which is what I look for in the products I buy. I'm trying to buy items that will fit into my wardrobe and work all year round. Staple items that I can wear year after year and keep on-trend by adding one fashion statement item to the outfit.

On this day in Amsterdam, we explored the Van Gogh museum, the sex museum and even devoured nutella  and strawberry covered churros (and yes they were incredible.)

So there you have my first little insight to Amsterdam, my next blog will be some top tips and places to visit should you want to try a weekend in Amsterdam, which I would definitely recommend.

Amy Rowley Style - With Perfect Glasses

If you know me then you will know that since I was little I have had to wear glasses. Growing up it was never something I enjoyed or liked about myself and once I got to college I decided to try contact lenses. After a battle with those and a period of time that involved very sore eyes, I ended up going back to wearing glasses full time. However this time I decided to embrace it and use them as a fashion statement. Since then I am always on the hunt for fashionable frames at a reasonable price.

One thing that still gets to me is that I can't just simply walk into topshop and buy a pair of sunglasses of the stand, because believe me when I say...i'm pretty blind *chuckles*. So when Perfect Glasses got in touch and told me about their  prescription glasses and sunglasses range I thought I would have a little look. Not expecting much I ended up finding a gorgeous pair, at at extremely affordable price.

This design caught my eye as it's very similar to a Rayban style called Erika. However instead of being £150, these little beauty's were £39! Now if you wear glasses you will know that finding reasonable but fashionable frames can be hard. If you still wish to have the designer brand Perfect Glasses have a great selection of designer frames in all shapes and sizes, but I wanted to show you that you don't have to spend a fortune to receive a great frame!

The website has a great tool where you can upload a picture of you and it will show you how the glasses will fit. I found this useful, just so I could see how big the frame was compared to my face.
To get the correct prescription you can either enter it manually or upload your prescription document, it really is that simple. Once ordered, my glasses arrived within a couple of days and I cannot believe how happy I am with them. I now just need the weather to stay sunny so I can get the wear out of them they deserve.

If you like these frames but don't need prescription lenses, don't panic. You can buy the frames without prescription lenses in, no fuss. The website currently has an offer on where if you enter the code 'PAYHALF' at the checkout you can get half price discount across the entire website. So if you like the look of these or just fancy a look, then I would recommend heading over there quick.

Glasses - Perfect glasses
Dress - Zara
Bag - Vivienne Westwood (out of stock)

I hope you enjoyed this little blog post from me, I really enjoyed working on this one and am so happy with my glasses. It's not very often i find a pair of reasonably priced prescription sunglasses that I love.

Amy Rowley Style - The Trench Edit

Spring has sprung and I don't know about you but this makes me a very happy bunny. Today was the first day in a while I have been on my way back from work smiling because the sun is out and the breeze is just perfect! Anyway cheesiness over and done with, its important to remember that living in the UK it just so happens that these days are few and far between. With that in mind I thought what better focus for this week's blog then the classic trench coat!

Now if I had my way the Burberry trench would be the absolute epitome of perfection, however it's safe to say that is no where near my budget. So I thought I would talk to to you about the PINK trench and yes I am still far from being over my current pink obsession.

I picked this little beauty up from Topshop last year and I wore it to death through the spring months. I'm glad to see that the trend has been bought back this season and there are still plenty of choices available on the market. ( Links will be below) Not only does it give the edge to the classic of the trench but it just injects a little bit of colour to an outfit. Colour in my opinion is never worn enough, so many people get comfortable wearing the grey tones and monochrome outfits, which don't get me wrong I love, but you should never be afraid to wear a little bit of colour. You should learn to be playful with it and instead of wearing a complete outfit of bright colours, use one pop to make your outfit scream fun. You don't have to wear super bright shades either, muted tones and pastels are in fact my favourite.

This outfit was a simple one thrown on for the weekend but i felt comfortable yet a little bit sassy. With International Women's Day just gone it reminds me how important it is to feel great about what we are wearing and embrace it!

Pink Trench Coat

-No3-

So what do you think? Fancy a little pink trench? I know i will be wearing mine in the upcoming months and continue to embrace the pink shade that a lot of people seem to be going crazy over. I hope your all having a fabulous Friday and just like me looking forward to the weekend. I don't know about you but i'm hoping for a sunny one.

Amy Rowley Style - The Biker Jacket & My LFWF Experience

So after scrolling through the Zara app on my phone (a daily occurrence) this gorgeous suedette biker jacket caught my eye. The dilemma of what colour I should pick was the first hurdle after seeing it came in a baby pink shade too. It might surprise you if you saw my last blog post (here) that I chose this beautiful baby blue/grey colour to add to my wardrobe and after receiving the jacket it only seemed right that I shared it with you too.

* Outfit *
Jacket - Zara (pink version)
Jumper - H&M
Jeans - Topshop
Boots- Office
Bag - Zara (Sold out)

The classic biker jacket, is the perfect staple for any wardrobe. They return to the high street and designer market every season, with a different colour, new details or a interesting material. This particular biker jacket is part of the suede biker collection that has been around for the last couple of seasons and something I've totally been loving. I think its nice to step out of your comfort zone and choose something other then black or grey which is why I chose to go with this baby blue shade. It isn't too far away from the grey tones which means it's still easy to style and will work with most of your wardrobe.

I wore this outfit last weekend when I went to London for the day with one of my good friends. It kept me warm in the still very breezy weather we are experiencing but I still felt stylish at the same time. As for my jumper underneath, I found this cute little number on one of my recent visits to H&M. It is very similar to a Club Monaco jumper that a few well known bloggers had been styling throughout fashion week (Lydia E Millen & Josie Fashion Mumblr) so I knew I had to pick it up once I saw it. All other items in my outfit will be linked above if you fancy having a look.

Moving on from the outfit I wanted to quickly touch on a subject that I wasn't sure whether to bring up or not. As I mentioned earlier I went to London last weekend with a friend and we specifically went for London Fashion Week Festival. We had been excited to go for what seemed like ages and watching all the media shown throughout London Fashion Week, we had become even more eager to experience just a small part of that world.

I think its important to talk about how things may not always seem as they are and that in fact certain hyped events might not always make you feel as you had thought. But that is okay.

After experiencing only half an hour of the hustle and bustle of LFWF we decided that we would rather spend the day enjoying ourselves, exploring london further and being typical tourists instead of pretending to enjoy something that just wasn't our cup of tea. I wanted to enjoy the experience and could see so many others doing so but sometimes you have to accept if something isn't right.
The overall busy nature of the event and way it made us feel, left us leaving uncomfortable and almost eager to breathe again.

Anxiety isn't something I have really touched on before and its not something i'm overly ready to talk about now but for anyone else out there who may feel the same in these situations I just wanted to make a point of saying..ITS OKAY. Don't force yourself through something, instead remove yourself and be comfortable in your surroundings. Everyone is different and you may have the same passions but you might not like experiencing them in that shared way.

That's enough rambling for one post, don't you think!? I hope you enjoyed my little update and outfit post, who else is seriously in love with this jacket?

Your Making Me Blush

Ask me four years ago and honestly the colour pink is never a colour I thought I could see myself wearing. Now...I am officially obsessed. Anyone else with me?!

The blush shade, or the dusty pink colour is a trend that is flooding the high street and designer realm too. With the weather supposedly changing and temperatures rising, its the perfect shade to take you into the March and April with a spring in your walk. I thought I would put together a collection of my favourite blush picks and explain why each one could potentially be that little pop of colour to save your winter wardrobe.

Your making me blush

Miss Selfridge Blazer - First off this gorgeous blazer is a great staple for your wardrobe this spring. Perfect for your work wardrobe but would also look great paired with a t-shirt, ripped jeans and some converse for that slightly casual but cool style. For £39 its a pretty good bargain if you ask me and although we are taking all shades of pink, you could always opt for the black option if your not feeling that daring.

JW Anderson bag - Next up is this beautiful bag of dreams. Personally I always end up purchasing a bag any colour other then black. Why? you ask. If you don't always fancy a full outfit of colour you can edge yourself in slowly with accessories. Picture a complete black outfit with a dusty rose bag like this one. You are looking at a killer outfit. This particular choice is rather spendy however there are plenty in the high street stores that are just as pretty, especially Zara who are killing it this season as always.

Teddy Coat -  As much as we all want to believe summer is right round the corner, we have to remember that living in the united kingdom it doesn't always work that way. That's why I think this gorgeous teddy coat from topshop is another great rosey coloured addition to your wardrobe. Oh and a warm one too.

River Island Skirt - I really do love a midi skirt, especially in this shade of pink. It would be perfect for drinks with girls. Pull the outfit together with a white shirt and pointed courts for a sophisticated style. If midi isn't the length for you they also show this style in a mini skirt too. Paired with a little jumper, boots and tights for a more causal look, it will work just as well.

Estee Lauder blush - Next up, this blog post wouldn't be complete without a rosey blusher thrown into the mix. This beautiful ombre design from Estee Lauder is more then just an addition to your makeup bag but also a beautiful piece for your dressing table too. It comes in two shades so if you prefer a slightly more peachier colour to your cheeks then there is something for you as well, don't you worry.

Topshop Jumper - One of my firm favourites out of these top 10 picks is this velvet textured sweater from topshop. I currently love any clothing item's with an embroidered caption as we all know, so you can see why this jumper really screams out to me. Not only is it pretty and fashionable, but the comfort element is there too. What more could you need?

Newlook Cropped Trousers- I always think its hard to incorporate an element of colour into the bottom half of your outfit. These pink cropped cullottes are the perfect way to do so. Comfortable, perfect for the upcoming spring months, and they can be worn dressed up or down. Pair with a lace cami and sandals for a night out, or for something a little more casual, trainers and a cropped jumper will do the trick.

Jack Wills Trench Coat - Last year i purchased a beautiful dusty pink trench coat from topshop. Having loved it so much I knew I wanted to find a similar option for this post. This option from Jack Wills is definitely just as nice and perfect for the April showers we tend to experience in the spring. Throw over any outfit and you will transform something simple into fashionable as fast as you can say 'PINK'.

Studded Boots - If you saw my Christmas gift guide posts similar to this one, you will know that my love for these boots is ongoing. When I saw that they had bought them out in this colour, a nude shade and khaki I had to stop myself from clicking the buy it now button on all three. But yes, back to the boots, these are beautiful and a great way to jazz up your outfit. My only tip would be to protect them and try not to wear them when its raining as tempting as it may be.

YSL Card Holder - Last but not least, a little flush of blush luxury (tongue twister or what?). This card holder is the cutest touch to any handbag or flatlay. If you want to invest in the trend but prefer something a little more subtle and a higher end touch this is the perfect way to do so. I myself have been lusting over similar card holders for some time and think they are a great gift, so boyfriends take note.

So there you have it. My 10 blush pink picks for the season. What do you think? I really enjoyed putting this together and pretty much love every item in this post, so it was fun for me. I hope you're having a great end to the week and looking forward to the weekend as much as me. I'm off to London fashion week festival on Sunday so I'm sure next week's post will be full of fashion and more.

'Don't Look Back' Positivity and looking forward

So a week or so ago, i was out shopping with a good friend.  We came across this shirt and both of us fell in love simultaneously, meaning we walked out the shop with two bags not just one. First things first, its stripey. Now my love for stripes is forever strong, especially blue stripes in particular. I think they look very put together and inject a Parisian feel to your outfit, topping it off with a slice of elegance...yes a slice *laughs*. Secondly if you follow me on instagram ( @amyrowleyy) then you will know that my love for captions and embroidery is growing on a daily basis. So the cuteness of the shirt doubled when i saw that it had the words 'Don't Look Back' embroidered onto it.

When styling the shirt i wanted it to be the key focus of the look, let it do the talking. I paired it with some simple black Joni Topshop jeans, my new favourites although i will admit, the button has to be undone after dinner (high-waisted issues *sighs*). For shoes i chose the boots that i have literally not taken off since i bought them. My slightly pointed leather Chelsea boots from Office. Perfect for everyday wear and they go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. A staple black boot for your wardrobe. My bag you may have seen in a previous post (here) was a little sale find from Zara, gorgeous grey suede. It is unfortunately sold out, so i won't dwell on it too much but it does just give the finishing touches to the outfit.

*Outfit*
Shirt - H&M
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Office
(heads up the boots are now down to £40 !!)
Necklace - H&M

Now moving on from the outfit, after shooting the pictures for this post i thought more and more about the caption and how it fitted so well into something that is one of my main focuses this year. Positivity. 'Don't look back' and dwell on the past but instead move forward and look towards the future and what it holds for you. At the end of last year, i decided positivity was one thing i needed to focus on more, for myself but also others around me. Lets face it, no one enjoys a negative Nancy! I have always considered myself a pretty positive person, but sometimes it's easy to let the negativity surround you and eat you up.

After moving out last year and spending my first year away from my family, i really had to learn to love myself more. I didn't have the comfort of having my mum at my beck and call, but also i found out that as you grow up and move on in your life, you really start to see where your true friends lie. So here are a few pointers that might help you be more positive in the future.

  • Surround yourself by positive people and in turn be positive to others. You need to help each other and push through the negative time's as a team.
  • Don't dwell so much on the past, its easy to get caught up in what has happened or what could have happened, but really it won't help the future you. Look forward no matter what.
  • Try not to let other's opinions get you down. Your life is about YOU and you control it. Don't let other people hold you back after all most of the time their opinion doesn't matter.
My three small points are just a start of what could be the road to a positive you and a better year, you never know whats round the corner. I hope you enjoyed my little ramble, oh, and the outfit too! Let me know in the comments below, and feel free to come visit me over on my instagram @amyrowleyy or my twitter @amyspoons for more shenanigans!

Gorgeously Gingham

I can already tell that Gingham is going to be a huge trend favoured by all this spring/summer, and i can see why. It is a nostalgic pattern reminding us of our school days in those hideous summer dresses. This time we can wear it our own way. The classic black and white monochrome look, banishing those pastel yellows and dark green gingham combo's. I thought i would put an outfit together showing a gingham outfit still perfect for those slighter colder weeks we have left before the sun starts to make an appearance. If this trend is something you are interested in i can do Head to toe trend blog post so just let me know in the comments below.

* Outfit Details *
Shirt - Mango
Leather look trousers - New Look
Jacket - H&M sold out :(
Boots - Primark (similar from Office)
Necklace - ASOS

The shirt - So of course the main star of the show, is the shirt. The focal point of the outfit and the trend piece. I like to mix trend pieces with classic items in your wardrobe. I feel that this allows you to wear bigger trends in a subtle way, perfect for those catwalk inspirations in a high street way. This little number is a shirt i found on ASOS, but its actually by Mango. It was really inexpensive and perfect for those that love  something a little over sized. It has slightly wider sleeves or balloon sleeves, another trend that seems to be popping up, especially in high street stores like Zara at the moment.

The Trousers - As i said earlier i like to use classic pieces to trends to make them wearable and timeless. These black leather trousers do just that. we are still experiencing that cold weather at the moment so while this is the case, these skinny trousers are perfect. When the climates start to change i would mix up the leather look trousers with a dark grey/black distressed denim skirt for a slightly more edgier look.

The bag - Now this little beauty is currently my pride and joy. It was a very much welcomed gift from some lovely friends and i could not be happier. It is the Balmoral flap bag by Vivienne Westwood, in this gorgeous dark green forest colour. The gold chain is just the icing on the cake, and this little bag can make any outfit pop. I love the subtle branding on it to, just a small Orb logo, very chic! I think this is a nice way to still be classic but not wear a black bag. I often like to go for something a little different when it comes to my bag collection, and this one is definitley going to stay in mine as a firm favourite.

The shoes - Now these shoes were a quick emergency buy when i went to London for a day trip, stupidly wearing rather high heeled boots. These little beauty's were from primark, at the price of £12. What a steal! I have wanted some pointed boots for a while. I think they give a classic and quite elegant look to an outfit. I think buying a cheaper option to a product first to try it out is a great idea and is exactly what i did with these. I have now purchased another pair of boots similar but of higher quality and real leather from office, that i literally don't take off. I will link these below as even thought they may be a little bit more spendy, they are currently in the sale and a lot warmer on your tootsies *laughs*.

Jacket - Last but not least i just briefly wanted to mention the jacket. There are so many similar options to these on the market at the moment, the classic Aviator jacket, that seems to be flooding our screens on instagram. This particular take on the Aviator jacket is from H&M, one of the more affordable styles from the range on the high street at £49.99. Its so warm and fluffy and great to throw on while its still so chilly.

So there you have it! My take on the gingham trend, that i promise you will be seeing a lot more of over the upcoming months. Hope you liked this outfit, let me know your thoughts. Will you be making a gingham purchase anytime soon?

Pretty in Pink - Amy Rowley Style

So, its been ages since i've been able to post a style post on my blog, but today i'm back with a bang, with a gorgeous outfit and some awesome shots taken by a wonderful friend (her blog is here). As well as this i want to have a little chat about other subjects going on in the world, but i'll save that little ramble till later.

 First the outfit.

The star of the show for me has to be the sleeves on that jumper, now if you follow me on instagram (@amyrowleyy) you will know my love for any kind of sleeve detail. I'm obsessed. So when i caught my eye on this little beauty, i knew it had to be mine. Low and behold this jumper has actually become a giant blogger sensation, and everyone just like me, is a little bit in love. The juicy details you ask? First off, its from Marks and Spencer. Yes! Bet you didn't think i was going to say that! The price of the jumper is £35, so to me a standard price and something i will happily pay for a good quality jumper. It is clear to me that Marks and Sparks are seriously upping there fashion game, and its strong. This style of jumper also comes in grey, so if your not a lover of a splash of pink like me, fear not.  Flared sleeves were huge last season and the trend is only going to continue into the spring/summer months, so watch out for more sleeve details on the blog in the future.

I decided to pair the splash of pink with some dark blue denim jeans, skinny of course, and slightly cropped, so for a night out these are great with a pair of heels. These particular one's i picked up in Topshop a while back in the summer, they have little zip details to the sides and are high waisted. There is always something nearly identical on their website when it comes to denim, so ill find the best pairs and link them below.

Flared Jumper - Marks and Spencer
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Bag - Zara (Sold Out :( sorry)

Now for accessories, another key and killer part to this outfit, i wanted to show off a new purchase i made a few weeks ago. I had been looking at it for weeks, and after it went down in price, twice in the sale, i knew i had to have it. Hopefully it is still available, the little grey suede delight, ended up being a steal at £29.99. For real suede and such a gorgeous design, it really was such a great bag. I can fit tons of stuff into it and have already had plenty of compliments too. The shoes tied in perfectly and i didn't expect them too. My New Look pointed courts, which were also in the sale at £11.49, couldn't have complimented the bag any better.
I think this outfit would be perfect for an evening meal or even cocktails at a bar. In this cold weather, you only want to be out for a couple of hours, and you definitely want to stay as snug as possible.

What do you think of the outfit? Do you love it as much as me?

Ramble time.

I just wanted the chance to say how proud and motivated i feel to be a woman at the moment. It's so clear to see how passionate we are becoming and also nice to find that we can support each other and stand together as one. Of course i'm talking partly about the women's march, which took place last Saturday, but also just generally. Over the last couple of months i have really started to notice a community between girls, especially in the blogging industry. It's inspiring to watch and hear, but also great to be part of something that is becoming stronger and more successful. This is just a shout out to say, that we work our arses off just like any other person, we deserve just as much as any other man, and we are BOSSING IT GIRLS!

Now thats out of the way, apologies for the change of subject, i hope you are all having a fantastic week, and have a great weekend. Please do check out my new YouTube channel as well! I'll leave a link for it here.

My YouTube Channel...

So this has been in the pipeline and when i say the pipeline, i mean my little head, for a while. I probably watch YouTube videos more then i do read blog posts or scroll social media. So it only seemed right, that now i finally had a camera, i got my bum into gear and started up my own channel. This is completely new to me and a lot different from typing some words onto a page and pressing  publish, so as you can imagine it makes me very nervous. But nervous is good and everything else i'm doing in my life at the moment makes me feel this way so i must be doing something right ( or thats what i keep telling myself.)

My channel will be an extension to my blog and something that runs along side it. It doesn't mean my blog will be stopping, but i just thought i would add another string to my bow as they say. I will be posting lifestyle videos, fashion videos and beauty, as well as some baking and even possible vlogging in the future. So here goes, Please head over to my channel and subscribe, leave me a comment if you are feeling extra generous. Bear with me, while i get used to the editing and lighting, that goes with them, as i said this is different to anything I've done before.

So grab yourself a cuppa, and head over to the link below, to find out more.
