Your Making Me Blush

Ask me four years ago and honestly the colour pink is never a colour I thought I could see myself wearing. Now...I am officially obsessed. Anyone else with me?!

The blush shade, or the dusty pink colour is a trend that is flooding the high street and designer realm too. With the weather supposedly changing and temperatures rising, its the perfect shade to take you into the March and April with a spring in your walk. I thought I would put together a collection of my favourite blush picks and explain why each one could potentially be that little pop of colour to save your winter wardrobe.

Your making me blush

Miss Selfridge Blazer - First off this gorgeous blazer is a great staple for your wardrobe this spring. Perfect for your work wardrobe but would also look great paired with a t-shirt, ripped jeans and some converse for that slightly casual but cool style. For £39 its a pretty good bargain if you ask me and although we are taking all shades of pink, you could always opt for the black option if your not feeling that daring.

JW Anderson bag - Next up is this beautiful bag of dreams. Personally I always end up purchasing a bag any colour other then black. Why? you ask. If you don't always fancy a full outfit of colour you can edge yourself in slowly with accessories. Picture a complete black outfit with a dusty rose bag like this one. You are looking at a killer outfit. This particular choice is rather spendy however there are plenty in the high street stores that are just as pretty, especially Zara who are killing it this season as always.

Teddy Coat -  As much as we all want to believe summer is right round the corner, we have to remember that living in the united kingdom it doesn't always work that way. That's why I think this gorgeous teddy coat from topshop is another great rosey coloured addition to your wardrobe. Oh and a warm one too.

River Island Skirt - I really do love a midi skirt, especially in this shade of pink. It would be perfect for drinks with girls. Pull the outfit together with a white shirt and pointed courts for a sophisticated style. If midi isn't the length for you they also show this style in a mini skirt too. Paired with a little jumper, boots and tights for a more causal look, it will work just as well.

Estee Lauder blush - Next up, this blog post wouldn't be complete without a rosey blusher thrown into the mix. This beautiful ombre design from Estee Lauder is more then just an addition to your makeup bag but also a beautiful piece for your dressing table too. It comes in two shades so if you prefer a slightly more peachier colour to your cheeks then there is something for you as well, don't you worry.

Topshop Jumper - One of my firm favourites out of these top 10 picks is this velvet textured sweater from topshop. I currently love any clothing item's with an embroidered caption as we all know, so you can see why this jumper really screams out to me. Not only is it pretty and fashionable, but the comfort element is there too. What more could you need?

Newlook Cropped Trousers- I always think its hard to incorporate an element of colour into the bottom half of your outfit. These pink cropped cullottes are the perfect way to do so. Comfortable, perfect for the upcoming spring months, and they can be worn dressed up or down. Pair with a lace cami and sandals for a night out, or for something a little more casual, trainers and a cropped jumper will do the trick.

Jack Wills Trench Coat - Last year i purchased a beautiful dusty pink trench coat from topshop. Having loved it so much I knew I wanted to find a similar option for this post. This option from Jack Wills is definitely just as nice and perfect for the April showers we tend to experience in the spring. Throw over any outfit and you will transform something simple into fashionable as fast as you can say 'PINK'.

Studded Boots - If you saw my Christmas gift guide posts similar to this one, you will know that my love for these boots is ongoing. When I saw that they had bought them out in this colour, a nude shade and khaki I had to stop myself from clicking the buy it now button on all three. But yes, back to the boots, these are beautiful and a great way to jazz up your outfit. My only tip would be to protect them and try not to wear them when its raining as tempting as it may be.

YSL Card Holder - Last but not least, a little flush of blush luxury (tongue twister or what?). This card holder is the cutest touch to any handbag or flatlay. If you want to invest in the trend but prefer something a little more subtle and a higher end touch this is the perfect way to do so. I myself have been lusting over similar card holders for some time and think they are a great gift, so boyfriends take note.

So there you have it. My 10 blush pink picks for the season. What do you think? I really enjoyed putting this together and pretty much love every item in this post, so it was fun for me. I hope you're having a great end to the week and looking forward to the weekend as much as me. I'm off to London fashion week festival on Sunday so I'm sure next week's post will be full of fashion and more.

Gorgeously Gingham

I can already tell that Gingham is going to be a huge trend favoured by all this spring/summer, and i can see why. It is a nostalgic pattern reminding us of our school days in those hideous summer dresses. This time we can wear it our own way. The classic black and white monochrome look, banishing those pastel yellows and dark green gingham combo's. I thought i would put an outfit together showing a gingham outfit still perfect for those slighter colder weeks we have left before the sun starts to make an appearance. If this trend is something you are interested in i can do Head to toe trend blog post so just let me know in the comments below.

* Outfit Details *
Shirt - Mango
Leather look trousers - New Look
Jacket - H&M sold out :(
Boots - Primark (similar from Office)
Necklace - ASOS

The shirt - So of course the main star of the show, is the shirt. The focal point of the outfit and the trend piece. I like to mix trend pieces with classic items in your wardrobe. I feel that this allows you to wear bigger trends in a subtle way, perfect for those catwalk inspirations in a high street way. This little number is a shirt i found on ASOS, but its actually by Mango. It was really inexpensive and perfect for those that love  something a little over sized. It has slightly wider sleeves or balloon sleeves, another trend that seems to be popping up, especially in high street stores like Zara at the moment.

The Trousers - As i said earlier i like to use classic pieces to trends to make them wearable and timeless. These black leather trousers do just that. we are still experiencing that cold weather at the moment so while this is the case, these skinny trousers are perfect. When the climates start to change i would mix up the leather look trousers with a dark grey/black distressed denim skirt for a slightly more edgier look.

The bag - Now this little beauty is currently my pride and joy. It was a very much welcomed gift from some lovely friends and i could not be happier. It is the Balmoral flap bag by Vivienne Westwood, in this gorgeous dark green forest colour. The gold chain is just the icing on the cake, and this little bag can make any outfit pop. I love the subtle branding on it to, just a small Orb logo, very chic! I think this is a nice way to still be classic but not wear a black bag. I often like to go for something a little different when it comes to my bag collection, and this one is definitley going to stay in mine as a firm favourite.

The shoes - Now these shoes were a quick emergency buy when i went to London for a day trip, stupidly wearing rather high heeled boots. These little beauty's were from primark, at the price of £12. What a steal! I have wanted some pointed boots for a while. I think they give a classic and quite elegant look to an outfit. I think buying a cheaper option to a product first to try it out is a great idea and is exactly what i did with these. I have now purchased another pair of boots similar but of higher quality and real leather from office, that i literally don't take off. I will link these below as even thought they may be a little bit more spendy, they are currently in the sale and a lot warmer on your tootsies *laughs*.

Jacket - Last but not least i just briefly wanted to mention the jacket. There are so many similar options to these on the market at the moment, the classic Aviator jacket, that seems to be flooding our screens on instagram. This particular take on the Aviator jacket is from H&M, one of the more affordable styles from the range on the high street at £49.99. Its so warm and fluffy and great to throw on while its still so chilly.

So there you have it! My take on the gingham trend, that i promise you will be seeing a lot more of over the upcoming months. Hope you liked this outfit, let me know your thoughts. Will you be making a gingham purchase anytime soon?

Lets party, Christmas Edition - Part 2

So today i'm back with another party style post, whether you need a last minute idea for inspiration to a Christmas party, or your already thinking forward to new years eve, i'm here to help. In my last post i showed you a classic 'Amy' look. For this however i wanted to show you something a little bit different. A bit fairy tale, or self portrait inspired, with bundles of lace and a bit of a flare to the skirt. This little lace dress is from Missguided, which i was shocked to find, as the dress itself is really good quality. The zip was a little stiff to begin with but with a helping hand i soon got myself all zipped up. This dress made me feel a little bit like a Christmas fairy with a sparkly wand, but i kinda liked it. Hence why the backdrop for this shoot had to involve my current love in my life, my Christmas tree.

When it comes to accessories i wanted to keep it subtle and keep with the neutral tones of the dress. That is why i chose an old favourite for my heels. My topshop nude patent heels, i have worn these to death but my oh my have they served me well. Surprisingly comfy too. This dress would also look lovely with a pair of over the knee boots, for a slightly more dressed down look. I am still on the hunt for a pair that fit my little short legs without looking silly. We need somewhere to create petite boots for us little people.

Little life Update

So the last week or two have been a crazy whirlwind of crazy basically. I had all these plans at the beginning of the month to blog every other day of the month, but life as usual has just got in the way. Its Christmas time and for people like me that work in retail it means basically living at work. I love it and how busy it gets but it leaves little time to much else over the festive period. I have also been under the weather with the horrible cold that has been going around, so that wasn't much fun either. However every cloud has a silver lining and this week has ended on a real high after getting some great news on Tuesday. I will delve into that more another time, but for now just know i will be back posting as much as possible and i'm finally on the mend. I hope this month is as good for you as its turning out to be for me.

Lets Party, Christmas Edition - Part 1

Yes thats right, its the most magical time of the year, which can mean only one thing and that's getting dressed up, wearing all things sparkly and cracking out that red lipstick that only gets the love this time of year. So i thought ;d show you how i would do a Christmas party or night out, this year. Unfortunately i dont have many plans to get all dressed up this winter so it gave me a little excuse to have fun with it too. For my first look i went for a classic going out 'Amy' look, with quite a tight fitting midi dress, but this time with a twist. I normally always go for a dress with this fit, as sometimes dresses that flare or flounce or flow, can make me look like a little child fairy, instead of a woman on a mission haha! However i was a little more daring with my next look which will be going live very soon. Anyway back to the outfit and the main star of the show in this look, and thats the dress. This little Gem is from the Topshop petite section, which means it fits like a glove and isn't too long for my very short legs. Its a gorgeous navy velvet and lace combination that just shouts elegance. If you haven't already go and check out my velvet Blog post here. It just fits in all the right places and feels like great quality. Even better, it has a small slit up the back, so its really easy to move in and feels very comfortable to wear. No awkward limping up the stairs situation coming your way in this baby!

* Velvet Dress - Topshop, (similar) Shoes - Newlook, Bag- Rebecca Minkoff *

For shoes, i thought i would go all in with the velvet trend, with this grey velvet stilettos. I love Pointed stilettos. They are my favourite kind of heel and already i have quite a collection in my wardrobe. I personally am not a fan of having cold toes, so sandals, this time of year are a no go for me, and the pointed finish to the shoes, always does a good job of elongating my legs, and making me look a lot more sophisticated then i actually am. These bad boys, were a right little find in my local new look, at £11.49!! I mean what a bargain, bit of an odd number but hey i definitely wasn't complaining. I will be getting my money's worth with these one's thats for sure.

For accessories, i wanted to keep it simple and let the dress do that talking, however i couldn't not wear my new little Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac, to finish it all off. This bag was my only Black Friday bargain, down from £170 to £45!? Shamazing deal that i couldn't pass up. I like the metal detailing on the bag and it just gives it a little edge to the outfit.

As i said at the beginning no Christmas outfit is complete without a pop of red lipstick. I went for the classic Rimmel 107, which never lets me down. I completely love this outfit and if i had a Christmas party booked it would be my go too look. what do you think? what are you guys wearing to your party's this Christmas?

The Velvet Trend 5 picks - Head to Toe

So let me just start by saying these bad boy's were hard to pick. To pick only 5 items from the mountain of velvet that is on the high street was so hard but i think i have found some real gem's and i absolutely love them all. So if you haven't guessed already i decided to do a very similar post to my leopard print Head to Toe post linked here. It seemed to go down really well and the more i thought about it, what perfect time to talk velvet, then the festive season. Velvet is so huge this season, its hard not to love it, the shades of velvet are beautiful and there are so many ways of incorporating velvet into your wardrobe and outfits. So let me show you five ways to wear the Velvet trend.

1. Choker - Accessorize - So the first item is the ideal way  to wear velvet if your not too sure on the trend, but like to keep up to date, and like me, love your accessories. The return of the choker has been huge this year and is still going strong. There are tons of velvet chokers, thin, thick, sparkly, on the market at the moment. This is one i have in particular and have worn to death over the last couple of months. Its really simple with a single pearl pendant attached but it is so versatile. I like wearing it with black with my work outfits or wearing it with thick cozy jumpers for that contrast in textures. You really can't go wrong with this one and its such an easy way to wear a trend this winter.
2. Dress - Topshop - Next up is the dress from the brand Rare which is sold on Topshop. Isn't it gorgeous!? The perfect Burgundy red shade for Christmas and perfect for that Christmas party or night out. This would also be a great piece for a winter wedding so useful for many occasions and something you could keep in your wardrobe for years to come. The bardot trend is still going strong, and its a trend i love. Sexy but covered is my go to look, and having your decolletage on show is much more appealing then having your boobs out (in my opinion.) Pair this with a pair of black pointed courts and black satin bag for a real contrast in materials and you are good to go.

3. Skirt - Missguided - Now this Skirt really caught my eye and for good reason too. First off it is super cheap. Second its a great colour and third the drop hem skirt is a beautiful style and fit. You could wear this day or night and rock it both ways no problem. For the evening a lace trim cami and some heeled sandals will look gorgeous. To keep it more casual in the day a simple white shirt tucked in and some over the knee black boots will make a killer outfit and perfect for strolling around the city, immersed in all the Christmas lights. You could even wear this on christmas day with a cozy jumper for that super festive look. Endless outfits and very little dollar is always a winner in my books.

4. Boots - Zara - Now these have to be my favourite out of all the velvet picks in this post. I literally love them. Everything about them screams fashion, style and elegance. I love that they are a little bit different with the exposed zip and tie up detail. There are so many trends going on in one little boot its hard not to squeal with delight. The colour is the perfect shade of blue navy, that they will still look great with black jeans, but also all the other Christmas colours, red, green, metallic's. I would style these little beautys with an all black outfit. A black satin shirt, some black skinny jeans and a pop of red lipstick and you are ready for your date night or drinks with the girls.

5. Watch - Cluse - Now last but not least is one for the real velvet lover and also a great Christmas gift this year and that is this velvet strapped watch from Cluse. Now if you haven't seen my gift guide already i will link it here, but i featured one of the Cluse watches in that too. They are such a good price point and there really is something for everyone in there range. This blue velvet watch is just one from there velvet collection and i just think its a perfect statement accessory. Whats better if the velvet is just a phase your going through at the time the Cluse straps are the easiest to mix and match with super easy interchangeable straps. what more could you want!

So that is my five velvet picks, what do you think? I love them all and am really getting into the velvet trend this year, so go make a little velvet purchase this Christmas and put a smile on your face. Hope you enjoyed this post, there will be more from me this week as I am trying to blog every other day in December, my take on the 12 days of Christmas. Five Leopard print picks - Head to toe

Hey lovelies, it feels like ages since i did a fashion focused blog post and even though it hasn't even been that long, I've had what i think is quite a good idea and i thought i would share it with you. So i have decided to start a new series on my blog called 'Head to toe'. A series where i pick 5 items from a certain trend that cover all bases literally from head to toe. Like a top, a pair of trousers, or a pair of shoes. Not to be worn together necessarily but, items that follow a trend and different items in which you can wear it. For my first trend I've decided to go with something that is huge this Autumn/winter and that is Leopard print. So i have chosen five leopard print pieces that would make a great asset to any wardrobe, or jazz up any outfit, that i think you guys may like.. So read on to find out more.

1. My first item of clothing is a Leopard print Shirt from topshop. I own this item myself so thought it was a good place to start. To me this shirt is a trend setter, its satin, Pjama style and leopard print so three trends in one. Whats not too Love!? Pair this beauty with some leather trousers and heeled boots for a night out and you are ready to hit the town. Or Team it with a denim skirt and some converse for a slightly edgy look. I just think this is a great piece for anyone's wardrobe and i have already worn it on so many occasions, its definitely worth the money.

* Printed Shirt - Topshop, Similar option - Asos *

2. Now for a clothing item that can be worn on the bottom half of your body, and for this i have chosen a skirt. I feel like leopard print trousers could be a step too far, so a skirt can be worn slightly more subtle with some tights boots and a turtleneck. For something a little bit more dressy, pair it with a satin and lace cami and some pointy heels for that super sexy look. Both of the links below from topshop would be great choices.

*Leopard Print Skirt - Topshop - Topshop *

3. For shoes, there really was only one option and this is a pair of leopard print boots. With an all black outfit these would look amazing and inject just that little bit of fun. I think its always important to play with trends in footwear, as they really can make an outfit, from nothing into something.

* Leopard Print boots - River island*
4. For my next Leopard print item of choice, i have chosen a little bag from whistles. This little number is super cute and just a little bit playful too. If you like to stay on trend but don't always have the budget like myself, accessories are always good to play with. This option is slightly more expensive but there are plenty more options on the highstreet, if your all about looking for that special bargain. It is also a great choice if you dont like to be too out there or crazy with patterns. Just a small contrast to a simple outfit can be a great choice.

*Leopard Print Bag - Whistles *

5. My last and final pick for this trend, has to be a leopard print coat. This season they seem to be everywhere on the highstreet, and why not, they are such a great statement piece to have in your wardrobe. If your going to go all sassy with a trend this is the way to do it. And for someone like me who loves a coat or jacket in the colder months then this is the piece for you. After all who see's the rest of your outfit anyway.

*Leopard Print Coat - Asos - Riverisland *

So there you have it. My five favourite picks for the leopard print trend. What do you think, will you be adding a little splash of leopard to your wardrobe anytime soon!? I hope you enjoyed this post from me. I think I'm going to delve into the velvet trend for my next 'head to toe' post. What do you think?

Thanks for reading my lovelies, hope you are all having a lovely weekend! x

Autumnal Trends - Knitwear part 2

So if you haven't seen my last post already i will leave you a link here, but this is the second part in my knitwear trend posts and for this post have gone for a classic Amy outfit. This is literally my favourite kind of outfit, and something i will be living in for the next couple of months. For the main piece to this outfit i decided to go for a classic cream jumper option with slight details to the sleeves which is what drew me to this jumper originally. The classic cream jumper is something every girl but even every boy needs in there wardrobe. I know i have had plenty of them go in and out of my wardrobe over the years and they just scream autumn/winter to me. This particular one is from River island, who can i just say have been smashing it this season with there pieces and trends. It is unbelievably soft which is so important when on the hunt for the perfect knitwear piece. There is nothing worse then an itchy jumper or cardi on those cold days and evenings. I got this in a size 8 but in hindsight i may have wanted to go up a few sizes to achieve that over-sized look.

* Cream Jumper - River Island*

For my bottom half i have gone with these coated leather look jeans from new look, which i love! They fit like a glove and i love combining different textures together so the leather feel and the knitwear is just a winner in my opinion. They are just a little bit different then your normal pair of jeans, even though a good pair of blue denim jeans would look great with this knit too. I do think that these coated jeans should be a staple in your wardrobe this autumn, they can be paired with so many pieces, and look great for the evening but also dressed down for the day like this option,

*Coated jeans - Newlook *

Now for the shoes, a pair of ankle boots or even knee highs would look just as great, but for me on a day off i am all about the comfort and feeling comfortable in my own skin. This is why a classic pair of high tops are my choice, they give the outfit a little bit of an edge and a bit of grunge which i like, but the contrast to the leather trousers, dresses them down a bit. For me, one of those girls who are always terrifed of being overdressed or looking like i'm all dressed up with no where to go, this is my safe zone. (not to be stayed in all the time i must add but for a casual and comfortable look sometimes you just have to.)

* Converse - Kurt Geiger, Camel coat - Topshop *

Lastly for outerwear i have bought out the old favourite.. the camel coat. Who doesn't love a camel coat?! haha but seriously i love the colour and I love the elegance it brings to the outfit, it just brings it all together. Mine is just a plain one from topshop, but you can get some real beauty's on the market  at the moment.

I hope you enjoyed this trend post, i know i loved putting them together. A big thanks to Mayumi Who took the Outfit shots for the last three posts. Her blog is linked here, if you want to give it a little look.

Autumnal Trends - Knitwear Part 1

Happy Sunday peeps! I'm currently on a little break away with my family, a jam packed weekend with all sorts of fun, activities and a little bit of chill time. Which sometimes we all need. Its my last proper little break of the year, and also the last time i will be getting some time off work, retail at Christmas is no fun for anyone, even though i will do my best to enjoy it and also keep the posting regular. Anyway i thought i would share with you a little autumnal trend post, to get you prepped for those chilly days out and super cold evenings that have started to appear. Knitwear is the main focus for this trend and my oh my is it my favourite. What shouts autumnal, cosy and cuddable more then a  soft, thick jumper or cardi. I am a sucker for a cable knit, and once I find a style I like, I like to go ahead and buy it in every colour. Its nice to find something a little bit different then just a simple jumper so when i found this one i snapped it up quick. Its from River island on Asos. The first thing i loved about this jumper was the colour, its such a lovely burnt orange brown colour, like the colour of the autumn leaves,..Perfect! I also loved the neckline of the jumper. A lot of jumpers are high necked or just simply round neck, the v neck just makes it slightly more interesting and it allows you to keep the neck accessories interesting, while still keeping warm and snug. The detail to the arm of the jumper is also really nice its kind of like an open plait to the arm, leaving your arm to breathe and get some air, which while the sun is still shining is perfect. Wherever i go i tend to walk so by the time i reach my destination I'm all hot and stuffy with all the layers, so this works well. For the colder months you could always layer a long sleeved t-shirt underneath, maybe a stripey one to add some pattern and texture to the outfit.

* Jumper - River Island (Asos) *

I paired this jumper with my trusty ripped denim skirt. The perfect transitional piece throughout the year, as it looks just as good in the winter with tights and boots as it does with bare legs and sandals in the summer. My one is from the Topshop petite range and is great for my very short legs. I would definitely recommend picking yourself up a denim skirt for your all year round wardrobe. Its perfect for an alternative to jeans otherwise i tend to live in them.

* Denim Skirt - Topshop*

For my shoes I have my Gucci loafer dupes from Topshop. At £29 they are such a bargain and they go with literally everything. I did need to wear them in to begin with but they are now the comfiest things. They also come in a metallic colour which i am very tempted to pick up, as they will look great with some ripped jeans and a plain top or jumper to jazz it up.

* Lucy Loafers - Topshop (metallic) *
Accessories i have kept it simple and just jazzed it up with my necklace from Asos, that i wore in my last post. (Link Here.) It looks lovely with this neckline, just as a choker and a layer of necklaces would too. Or for something a little bit warmer, a nice thick scarf would be the perfect accessory. I think this is a perfect weekend outfit. Great for shopping, lunch with friends, a little walk, you name it! You could wear this jumper with some black jeans and ankle boots for a more evening look if you wanted too as well.

* Necklace - Asos *

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, i know i have and don't want it to end thats for sure!

Fancy Flares and Textures - Autumn Trends

I am so happy to finally have some new outfits to share with you. Autumn is without a doubt my favourite season for fashion, food, weather..well everything really. So of course I've been loving all of the current autumnal trends that are on the high street at the moment. Flares being one of them. They were big in the summer and they are continuing to fill the shops, flared sleeves are everywhere. They can turn a classic shirt into something new and give a real elegance to an outfit, which is why i love this trend. When i saw this shirt from riverisland i knew i had to have it. Its so beautiful but whats better it's two trends in one. The cami style top over the top of it, sparks another trend, cami layering. Cami dresses, and tops over t-shirts were huge this summer, so its nice to see something on the high street that can take us into the autumn months.

* Flared shirt and cami - Riverisland *

Textures are always huge in the colder months in the UK, along with the heavy knits and the velvet and satin, leather trousers have always been a favourite of mine. They are a great staple in your autumn wardrobe as they can be taken from day to night, as well as keep a simple pair of jeans or trousers more interesting and a little more on trend. I found these high-waisted ones from New look, they were under £25 and fit like a glove. I really enjoy wearing these on a night out, but also dressed down with trainers for that effortlessly cool look.

* Coated leather look jeans - New look *

My boots are another little gem from River island, suedette ankle boots with a little gold zip up the back. The suede compliments the leather so well, as my love for suede continues. I dont know about you but boots are simply my favourite type of shoe. I could own 100 pairs of boots and still find another pair that i wanted to add to the mix. I love the textures they give to the outfit and i think they finish it off perfectly. Just a heads up they come up super small and tight so be sure to try before you buy.

* Black Suedette ankle boots - Riverisland *

Last but not least for accessories i wanted to add a splash of gold to my jewellery. This beautiful star and moon ring is from accessorize and i love it. I have had so many compliments on it, and for a gold plated item under £20 you really cant go wrong. My silver rings are from Pandora and are just a selection of their stacking rings i'm wearing at the moment. For my necklace i paired it with this beautiful layering Asos necklace with tiny little moon and circle charms hanging from several gold chains. It is super cute and compliments the neckline of the shirt perfectly. It just adds that little bit of detail and sparkle, which every outfit needs.

* Necklace - Asos, Star and moon ring - Accessorize*

I absolutely adore every item in this outfit and can't recommend the pieces enough. The perfect outfit for a smart day out and about, or even day to night as this could still look stylish and put together for an evening do. I hope you enjoyed the look.

Drop Hem Gorgeous

Now this is what i can a chilled weekend outfit. Heading out for Sunday brunch and a walk with the dog, or running into town for errands. These kind of outfits have to be really comfortable, effortlessly cool and the more layers to the outfit the better, especially for winter. I saw this top, the other day when i was buying work uniform, yep that's right i go in for black trousers and tops i come out of the shop with a pink tee. Sounds about right. I love this dusty rose pink colour, that seems to be all the rage still this season. Spring time it was everywhere and i have a gorgeous pink coat this colour so i'm glad to see its still going strong for autumn/winter. I think this top could be worn with heeled boots and a leather jacket to make it look a little more sophisticated if that is what your all about. I just wanted to show you how an understated outfit can still look cool.
This top is from Vila i bought it in Fenwick Colchester, however i can't seem too find it anywhere online. There is a very similar longer sleeved top on the Vila website though so take a look at that one if you like this. Link Here

* Converse - Kurt Geiger *

For this very casual spin on things i decided to keep it simple and throw on a plain pair of black wash denim, skinny of course and some black converse. I have always had white converse till quite recently when i picked these up from Kurt Geiger. I literally love them, i forgot how comfortable Converse can be and i find these black are actually more stylish and versatile then the white ones at times. If you don't own a pair of Converse then get yourself some, you won't regret it!

I definitely can't get the hang of this posing malarkey clearly *sighs*

* Khaki parka Jacket - H&M

* Badges - Zara *

For those colder and blustery days, a throw on jacket is just what you need to take this outfit to the next level. I bought this khaki parka Jacket type thing from H&M a little while ago and i literally love it. I bought it in a size 10 so it was slightly over sized and i just throw it over anything, especially as i am always cold without a doubt. There are loads of these floating about on the market, with badges and all sorts on them but i like this more simple version. I did however attach some cute little pin badges from Zara to give it a little bit of texture and added interest.

I hope you like this slightly more casual outfit post from me today, i know i definitely like wearing these outfits they may be more simplistic but also realistic so great for every day.

5 Work Wear Staples and keeping your work wardrobe interesting

Do you ever feel like your work wardrobe is lacking and it bores you to think of something to put on in the morning? Do you feel like buying work wear items is a bore and so uninteresting? Well join the club. I say to myself every month, right lets invest a little and buy a couple of nice bits for my work wardrobe, but it just never happens and it honestly frustrates me so much. I get so fed up of putting on the same items every week and thinking oh that will do. I want to still feel stylish and trendy in my work wear clothes and know that if last minute drinks after work is offered i wont be afraid to say no because i look and feel like i'm wearing a sack. So today i'm gonna share with you 5 work wear staples that we all need in our wardrobe and a couple of tips on how to keep your work outfits interesting and trendy.

1. The first Staple in your work wear wardrobe life is a simple white shirt. They don't have to cost loads and you can find them anywhere so its an easy one to start off with. White shirts are most possibly one of the most versatile pieces any person could have in their wardrobe. You can wear them under things, throw things over them and layer to your hearts content. They also look great with any kind of bottoms. Whats even better is you don't have to keep this to work wear only...No. A nice white shirt will look so cute and stylish with some ripped jeans and heels, or pair of trainers.

2. The second staple you should have is a great pair of black trousers. Each individual will prefer a different fit to suit there body shape so that my friends is up to you, but a good fitting pair of black trousers is something everybody needs. Don't be afraid to invest in them either, because when you find that perfect pair you wont want to take them off for days. For me i'm quite short and have a small waist and small legs, so i always tend to suit petite skinny trousers, as the straight leg can sometimes make me look a little silly.

* Trousers - Warehouse *

3. A little black dress is the third staple in your work wardrobe. Following on from my last post (link here,) i think that this is something every girl needs and not just for work but casual too. I think it is important to pick something that fits nicely and is comfortable to work in all day. With work wear, the fit of the pieces is probably one of the most important things. To keep things interesting, any detailing on the dress is welcome, you don't need to keep it plain and simple, mess around with things like lace, embroidery and embellishment.

* LBD - Zara *

4. The next staple is a Blazer. A great blazer can make anything look professional, so if your down to your last t shirt and trousers combination, you can chuck on this blazer and automatically you look ready for business. Again i'm gonna bang on about the fit of the products but it really does make all the difference. I like quite a fitted style that cinches me in at the waist to create some curves that really aren't there, however if your prefer a more relaxed look, the boyfriend fit blazer can look really nice too, a little bit more effortlessly cool.

* Blazer - Topshop *

5. A pair of comfortable shoes is the last and final work wear staple. Whether they are flat black loafers or a pair of comfortable pair of heels it is so important to make sure you are comfortable. Especially if like me you are on your feet all day. Personally i'm more a flats girl however in the winter i prefer to wear ankle boots with a slight heel just to mix things up a little.

* Heeled loafers - Asos *

Texture - Now on to those tips to keep things interesting.and the first is to play with textures and different fabrics. For instance a chiffon blouse or a top with pleats or embroidery will give that extra boost to your wardrobe. Plisse pleat culottes are all the rage at the moment so pair those with your white shirt and it will look a lot more interesting then a simple black skirt. Ruffles are also really on trend at the moment so try and incorporate fashion trends in subtle ways.

Accessories - If all else fails jazz up your work wardrobe with some fancy accessories. Use jewellery, or a cute belt or scarf to add texture pattern and trends to your work wardrobe. By adding a simple choker to a white shirt, or a silk scarf you can make an outfit 10 times more interesting. The same goes for shoes, a funky pair of boots with detail to the heel or a pair of pointy patent heels can take an outfit from boring to wow.

I hope you liked my tips and picks for your work wardrobe, and its inspired you to have a little more fun with it. Your work wardrobe doesn't have to feel like a chore.

A summer to autumn little black dress

So i decided i wanted to make a Missguided order. I very rarely shop on Missguided, for several reasons. The first i am never sure on the quality of the products as it can be very unreliable, and also i find that things tend to look lovely on the models on the website but when it comes to little old me, they just never suit me. I see so many people on Instagram rocking this and that so i thought i'd just have a little browse. This resulted in me making a little order. I did my usual click and collect and it arrived super quickly. As i thought most items ended up going back, however i did keep a couple of things and one of those, being this little black dress.

Every girl should have that little black dress in her wardrobe, and i think its great to have one that you know you can wear whatever the season. When i saw this online i knew it was right up my street. It is so simple but with the ruffle details its just keeps it interesting and on trend. Whats even better about this is it could be styled in so many different ways. You could pop a pair of pointed stilettos on, rock a red lip and a sequin bag and your ready for any evening event, Christmas party included, with that pop of red on your lips. You could grunge it down with a pair of converse and a leather jacket. For your work wardrobe you could pair it with a pair of loafers, (see last post here.) And with the colder months ahead pop a long sleeve tee underneath, maybe a burgundy red for a little bit of colour, some thicker tights and pair of boots and your ready to face that English winter.

* Little black dress - Missguided *

I have kept this look really simple, perfect for a day out with the girls, a meal and drinks out with friends or a date night. I have pulled the dress in at the waist to give myself a little bit of shape with my old favourite, western belt from Topshop. This little beauty just works with everything and it keeps the trendy vibe of the outfit going.

For shoes i have paired mine with a simple pair of black boots. These are just an old pair i got from Asos last year, but i will link a couple of ideas below. Just like the little black dress, every girl needs a a pair of little black boots for all year round. The heel to the boot is just enough to keep it dressy but comfortable and they look great with everything, jeans, skirts dresses you name it.

For accessories, i have bought out another old goodie, my little Celine box bag dupe from mango and my Rayban clubmaster sunglasses. Mine are a prescription pair from boots as i am blind as a bat but you can get these anywhere these days. I love them.

* Rayban Clubmasters - Zalando *

So there you have my little spin on a little black dress, i'm sure when December hits another little black dress will be on the scene but for now this beauty is just perfect.
